Pregnancy and post-pregnancy
I am breastfeeding my baby; can I follow
leDiet
?
Answer
We recommend that you wait three or four months after giving birth (especially if you are nursing) before you start a weight-loss Diet.
In the meantime, follow the basics of a well-balanced Diet.
- Eat three to four meals a day.
- Avoid snacking between meals; it is better to plan to have a snack at a certain time rather than to nibble throughout the day.
- Limit foods that contain fat and sugar.
- Limit the amount of oil that you use in seasonings.
- Cook without using fats or oils (grill, bake, or steam).
- Have at least four dairy products a day (be careful of cheese that contains more fat than other dairy products).
- Drink a lot of water throughout the day (at least 8 glasses of water).
- Eat a variety of foods in order to meet all of your vitamin and mineral needs.
- Eat vegetables and starches at each meal.
You can (once you have finished nursing) subscribe to
leDiet
which is based on a well-balanced Diet that also considers your eating habits, lifestyle, and preferences.
